Du 6 au 10 juin 2022 se tenait en ligne une conférence du Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland sur le thème de l’anthropologie, l’intelligence artificielle et le futur de la société humaine. Trois membres de l’équipe, Teresa Castro, Elie Danziger et Perig Pitrou ont organisé et animé un panel intitulé “Controlled Environmental Facilities and the Visualisation of Future Human Society”. Le but était de réunir des communications faisant état de projets contemporains ou historiques de visualisation de systèmes écologiques par des humains. Les communications ont successivement abordé les méthodes de quantification en sciences écologiques (Meredith Root-Bernstein), l’histoire visuelle de dispositifs d’encadrement de travailleurs industriels (Guilherme Machado), le fonctionnement semi-automatisé d’une ferme laitière en Belgique (Joffrey Becker, également membre de l’équipe), ainsi que le rôle des images dans l’architecture et le fonctionnement de l’infrastructure Biosphere 2 en Arizona.
From June 6 to 10, 2022, a conference of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland was held online on the theme of anthropology, artificial intelligence and the future of human society. Three team members, Teresa Castro, Elie Danziger and Perig Pitrou organized and moderated a panel entitled “Controlled Environmental Facilities and the Visualization of Future Human Society”. The goal was to bring together communications reporting on contemporary or historical projects of visualization of ecological systems by humans. The papers successively addressed quantification methods in ecological sciences (Meredith Root-Bernstein), the visual history of devices for supervising industrial workers (Guilherme Machado), the semi-automated operation of a dairy farm in Belgium (Joffrey Becker, also a member of the team), as well as the role of images in the architecture and operation of the Biosphere 2 infrastructure in Arizona.
