Lauren Kamili is a doctoral student in social anthropology and ethnology at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris and holds a master's degree in environmental policy from Sciences Po Paris. His thesis work, funded by the Ecological Transition Agency (ADEME), focuses on the practices and representations of biomimicry in France. They focus in particular on the ethnography of a bio-inspired chemistry and ecology laboratory (ChimEco, UMR 5021) which develops depollution protocols for former mining sites. Developing interdisciplinary research in collaboration with chemists and ecologists, she is also conducting an investigation into the modes of existence in these polluted areas, near the former Salsigne mine in Aude, and in Saint-Laurent-Le- Mining in the Gard.
