Sébastien Carcelle is an agricultural engineer, graduated from AgroParisTech in 2004, and doctor in social anthropology from EHESS since 2021. He carried out his thesis at the Social Anthropology Laboratory on agroecology in Brazil, with a two-year multisite survey , between 2017 and 2019, in the North of Minas Gerais. He worked at the National Agronomic Institute in the Prospective unit and taught Social Sciences at the Catholic Institute of Arts and Crafts in Lille and as a visiting professor at the Universdade Estadual de Montes Claros in Brazil. He currently works for the French Development Agency. His research focuses in particular on agroecological knowledge, alternative agriculture and development policies.
